But something precious has happened in terms of following my dream of becoming a photographer/retoucher.
I have had the opportunity to take photos of the wonderful performance artist/actor/humanitarian David Hoyle. He was much fun to shoot, in not a lot of time, I got some fantastic photos of David, he made it so easy for me, as he is a professional, and between 101 things going on in his head pre show, and getting made up, he still managed to pose, although even I didn't realise it until I looked at the shots afterwards! He's a genius!
I was also given permission to cover the 2010 UK Black Pride event by event creator Khi Rafe.
I nearly bottled it, thinking I should not go, but something pushed me to go, I thought if I don't get past the gate it was not supposed to be,but so glad I did. Held in the beautiful inner circle at Regent's Park, it was a beautiful day. I will add more later, as time is precious and I still have to complete these photos. I like the creative process of retouching so much, and special subjects deserve due care and attentions.
As I was getting ready to leave, sitting eating a delicious vegetable curry, and reflecting on events from a safe distance, I looked around and noticed a stall, and a really striking lady packing away. I'd not had the chance to take any photos of the stalls, so thought if anything it would be a little bit of promo.
Running your own business is beyond challenging and every little helps. The lady was very gracious after a long day, but I knew she was tired so did not push for a photo and managed to take one shot of one of her Shea products, then my memory was full.
Now call this fate, but we have connected online (thanks facebook!( and have some wonderful ideas for more photos. This lady is called Judith Silcott and her company Shea Delight sell luxury beauty and skin products amongst other high quality services for the body and mind. Check out her site and treat yourself.

Be good to yourself, and those you love. But don't waste your time on anyone else, as they will just try and bring you down x
